Har Ki Dun Trek is a part of Govind Wildlife Sanctuary in the Garhwal Himalayas of Uttarkashi district in Uttarakhand. The enchanting beauty of the Himalayas, their bracing climate and the soothing green leaves nothing more to be desired. Nothing can be b etter than spending days here in the serenity.
The peaks and glaciers in the Bandarpoonch range are a mountaineer’s delight. The path follows the River Tons from Netwar village through the villages of Gangad, Seema and Osla. The scenic vistas and bracing climate of the hills are ravishing. This valley is also known as “The Valley of Gods”. It has a mythological tale related to it. That is, The Pandavas from the epic Mahabharata took the route via Swargarohini while their ascent to heaven.
This fascinating valley remains covered in snow during winter season and the white sheet of snow makes it look a small snow-land. The summers makes this valley look totally different because the meadows, wildflowers and woods bloom in different colours.
The Har Ki Dun trek lets you explore the quaint villages and old lifestyle of villagers. Here, the houses are made in old style and people still wear their traditional clothes made of sheep wool.
